That year there was a staff of one with 63 groups visiting the theater. This year thousands of groups will visit the shows. The Carolina Opry has long been a member of Meeting Planners International as well as travel trade organizations such as The National Tour Association, Travel Industry of America, and the American Bus Association, which represent professional tour operators who qualify for their stringent membership requirements. In addition to tour operators and convention groups, we also cater to religious church, civic, and student & youth groups as well as family reunions. Groups of 22 or more people qualify for group rates and the attentive service of our group sales team. Theresa Krieg, who has headed the department since its inception in 1986, says, "It is more than a job, it's a commitment to people, to invite them to our theater, to take care of them while they are here, to entertain them, and to know that you have enriched their experience while in Myrtle Beach." In addition to enjoying the entertainment, your groups are personally greeted upon arrival and escorted to their seats. They are welcomed from the stage by the Master of Ceremonies, and during the regular season show are treated to a personal visit on their coach by a cast member following the show.For your convenience, we will also gladly book your reservations at other top quality attractions in the Myrtle Beach area.
